Jane Goodall

An English biologist who researches primates, especially chimpanzees. Jane Goodall was a vegetarian for many years, later gave up all animal foods and today spreads the message of plant-based eating. The Jane Goodall Institute has also released a plant-based cookbook called #EatMeatless: Good for Animals, the Earth & All. The English biologist stated in an interview why she decided to publish the book now. According to her, the current obsession with eating meat, dairy products and eggs destroys the environment, contributes to methane production, wastes water and harms our health. After reading Animal Liberation by Peter Singer, she began to see fear, pain and death behind all animal products. Although her initial reasons for a vegan lifestyle were ethical and mainly related to animals, nowadays the famous biologist is also concerned with saving the environment. Jane Goodall works to protect ecosystems in Tanzania, so she is very aware of how important plants are to the climate, wildlife and our diet. For example, her institute has planted millions of trees around the world. In June of this year, Jane Goodall received the Hope Award from the non-profit organization Mercy For Animals. The famous biologist received the award as a thank you for sixty years of service to animals, for the protection of chimpanzees and their habitats.
