Lewis Hamilton

British Formula 1 driver and six-time world champion. In 2017, he switched to a purely plant-based diet. He was motivated to take this step by the adverse living conditions of animals and also the positive effect on the health of the human body.

Two years ago, Hamilton participated in the James Cameron-produced documentary The Game Changers. A year later, in August 2019, a new vegan chain with Hamilton’s involvement was launched. Neat Burger has healthier dishes on offer compared to other fast food restaurants, plus an ethical edge. Hamilton and the chefs at Neat Burger partnered with Beyond Meat to develop their own plant-based burger patty.

Lewis Hamilton is very active on social media. A year ago in October, he stated on his Instagram that veganism is the only way to truly save our planet. Through his platform, he calls for a boycott of dolphin shows, informs about the cruelty of the leather industry and draws attention to whaling.

He compared the current isolation during the coronavirus outbreak to the life of animals living in captivity. Based on this, he drew attention to the importance of boycotting visits to zoos or circuses in order to prevent such animal cruelty.
